
Judged by the only surviving picture of the outlaw
Henry McCarty, aka Billy the Kid, it was always thought he was left-handed. Paul Newman played him left-handed in the 1958 film The Left-Handed Gun (though Kris Kristofferson played him right-handed in Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid in 1973). Then someone realised the photo was a negative, so they turned it round the right way and discovered he was right-handed. Then someone decided he was probably ambidextrous. So, you can be left and right and right and wrong at the same time, and have it both ways.
